Want the Performance of a Bitmain AntMiner S9?

[et_pb_section bb_built="1"][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text _builder_version="3.0.99" background_layout="light"]

If the answer is yes, then there are two options. The first is to order one from China at the current price of $3,000 – $4,000 and then if all goes well, it should arrive in one or two months. Then in the best case, you won't unpack a brick from the package.

The other option is to try to get an existing machine domestically, typically for between 800,000 HUF and 1,500,000 HUF with or without a power supply. This doesn't seem like a very realistic option either, since the prices here are also jaw-dropping.

Let's not even talk about the fact that given how loud it is and how much electricity it consumes, our expenses far exceed our profits. So what's the solution then, is there a solution?

Of course there is, and the solution comes in the form of none other than a HashFlare.IO clone. The little team members weren't even capable of spicing up the site with some unique design, saying the familiar theme will do just fine, farewell, why overcomplicate things.

So here we have the cleverly named Antminecloud.com who, according to their description, started sometime in 2017 with the brilliant idea of buying 1,800 Bitmain AntMiner S9 Bitcoin, i.e., SHA256 mining machines and from the computing power they provide, users can buy as much as they want or as much as their wallet can handle. According to the current description, they have already deployed 1,250 AntMiner S9 mining machines, bringing their total computing capacity to 16,875 TH/s .

This is no small amount, as according to CryptoCompare's (https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/btc?HashingPower=16875&HashingUnit=THs&PowerConsumption=0&CostPerkWh=0&MiningPoolFee=0) calculator, if we had this many machines at home in our oversized garage designed for AntMiner operation, then we would rake in almost $500,000 USD per month, which is approximately 125 million forints lenne per month. True, the actual profit would be much lower since for this many machines, approximately per machine 40 kW daily electricity and calculating with 30 HUF per kWh electricity prices, that's 50,000 kW daily electricity consumption, which would cost 1,500,000 HUF daily. It's still a business because even with a 30-day month, the electricity bill would only be 45,000,000 HUFand the remaining profit would be 80,000,000 HUF, which after purchasing the high-stakes Bitmain AntMiner S9 units, the purchase price of approximately 300-350 machines would be recovered in the first month. Meaning it wouldn't even take half a year for the machines providing the invested computing capacity to only generate profit afterward. True, the profit is incomparable with electricity available in China at 2-5 HUF/kW, but if someone wanted to try it, we've done everything for fair information.

That's more than enough about the company's foundations. Now let's dive in and get to know the tailor-made packages and the DEMO interface. Interestingly, on the main page, the BTC and USD tabs offer different performances, presumably due to the haphazardly assembled site, but let's not bother with that and log in.

After logging in, we can immediately find the entry point we need, which is none other than purchasing hash power. The smallest available performance is 100 GH/s, i.e., 0.1 TH/s, and the largest is 52,000 GH/s, i.e., 52 TH/s. Without being comprehensive, here are some options for 12 months:

  • 100 GH/s the smallest package
    • 12-month fee: 19 USD, which at today's exchange rate (2017.02.01) is approximately 4,750 HUF
    • A CryptoCompare (https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/btc?HashingPower=100&HashingUnit=GHs&PowerConsumption=0&CostPerkWh=0&MiningPoolFee=0) calculator shows that (based on current state) we'll be able to pocket 36 USD annually, which at today's exchange rate is approximately 9,450 HUF
    • It's more than nothing since we almost double our invested money, but Bitcoin (BTC) needs to keep pace and its exchange rate needs to remain relatively stable, then there shouldn't be any major problems. If the company disappears or Bitcoin collapses, then we've lost 4,750 HUF.
  • 13,500 GH/s (13.5 TH/s) meaning the Bitmain AntMiner S9 performance – will it be worth it?
    • 12-month fee: 2,565 USD, which at today's exchange rate (2017.02.01) is approximately 640,000 HUF (whoops)
    • A CryptoCompare (https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/btc?HashingPower=13.5&HashingUnit=THs&PowerConsumption=0&CostPerkWh=0&MiningPoolFee=0) calculator shows that (based on current state) we'll be able to pocket 4,860 USD annually, which at today's exchange rate is approximately 1,210,000 HUF
    • Considering that our entry fee is 640,000 HUF, for which let's face it, even we could tempt fate and order such a machine from China, or we could choose this option – we won't achieve greater profit than doubling the invested amount. For this, of course, Bitcoin needs to be worth at least as much a year from now as it is today, and its exchange rate needs to remain relatively stable.
    • Good question then: Is it worth subscribing to a quasi "virtual machine" or should we buy one for ourselves? Don't forget the electricity bill! Such a machine consumes approximately 40 kW of electricity per day, at home base rate of approximately 45 HUF, that's 657,000 HUF annually... So we bought a machine for approximately 600,000 HUF and paid 600,000 HUF in electricity bills in a year, and earned 1,200,000 HUF with it... So what did we do? Nothing? Umm... Not exactly... Because the machine will still be ours a year later (assuming it doesn't break down) and then we can say, well, if a Bitmain AntMiner S9 produces 600,000 HUF annually, then the situation isn't so bad compared to these rental-type constructions
    • And let's not even mention the flexibility, because with our own machine we can perform whatever SHA256 calculations we want wherever we want, unlike with Antminecloud where we can only mine Bitcoin exclusively.
  • 52,000 GH/s (52 TH/s) meaning the maximum we can buy
  • The situation is unchanged, no discount applies even for purchasing the largest package, the profit remains the same, at most the risk is much, much greater due to the nearly 10,000 USD investment.

So now what?

I don't know who they are, they're not acquaintances, there's no concrete or tangible information about them on their website or Facebook page. The appearance is the same as HashFlare.IO however I'm not sure they didn't just make a simple copy, and it's not certain that the 1,250 Bitmain AntMiner S9 machines described on the site actually work.

I wouldn't dare to jump in, I think it's a scam! If I had to rate Antminecloud.com's reliability on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 1. Time will prove things eventually. And the Chinese mining ban will certainly stir up the still waters, so in my opinion, this site is just a money collection scheme, nothing more. So don't you dare jump in and don't even buy the smallest package!

Then is there no other solution?

There is! The HashFlare.IO where you can decide which "pool" to group your subscribed performance to, and not only the SHA256 algorithm is in the repertoire, so you can choose other mining algorithms too:

  • SHA256
  • Scrypt
  • ETHASH (ETH)
  • EQUIHASH (ZEC)

They've already produced BTC for me which I successfully received, so at least I have something tangible from them, but of course this is no guarantee that it will remain this way.

Take a look at what they offer and if you like it, starting from just 2.2 USD you can get 10 GH/s performance for a year!
